We're building the control plane AI teams actually want
APEXVYRA started because routing a request to the right model shouldn't require four vendors and a custom-built queue. We're still solving that one problem — just for more teams, at more scale.
APEXVYRA began in 2023 as an internal routing layer, built by a small team tired of hand-wiring the same model API, vector store, and logging pipeline into every new AI project. What started as a way to avoid repeating that work for a single team became something other engineers kept asking to borrow.
In 2024, we opened that internal layer up as a public API. The core idea didn't change: one request in, one structured run out, with the routing, retries, and observability handled underneath. What changed was scale — from one team's workflows to agents running in production across fintech, healthcare, logistics, and insurance.
By 2026, the platform had grown past what a single "routing layer" implied. Evaluations, guardrails, knowledge base retrieval, and an enterprise tier with SSO and configurable retention shipped that year, and APEXVYRA became the control plane it is today: not just where requests get routed, but where teams build, monitor, and govern every agent they ship.
What we believe
A few things we won't compromise on
Observability isn't optional
If a run can't be traced after the fact, it shouldn't ship. Every agent we help teams build produces a full trace by default, not as an add-on.
One API surface, not five
Routing, retrieval, and guardrails are features of one platform, not separate products you have to wire together yourself.
Security review is a feature, not a favor
Audit logs, access control, and data retention are built in from the start, not bolted on when a customer's security team asks.
No model lock-in
Routing policies live outside your application code. Switching or adding a model is a config change, not a migration.
